Finding the Right Home
Every dog at Matara Creek is an individual. Sometimes, finding the right home means looking beyond the kennel.
At Matara Creek, every dog is first and foremost an individual. Most of our dogs spend their entire lives with us, but from time to time we may have a dog that would thrive better in a different environment than a large kennel.
These dogs are not “failed” sled dogs. Some are simply more sensitive, prefer a quieter home, or need one-on-one guidance that is difficult to provide in a large kennel setting. Others may be looking for a family where they can enjoy a different kind of life.
Because of this, we occasionally look for experienced, committed homes where the dog's individual personality and needs are truly understood. We carefully match each dog with the right owner, and not every home will be the right fit. Previous experience with dogs is valued, especially for dogs that require patient training and confidence-building.

Puppies
We do not breed dogs commercially or have puppies available on a regular basis.
If you are interested in a Matara Creek puppy, feel free to contact us regarding current or future litters. We are always happy to discuss whether one of our puppies would be the right fit for your lifestyle and expectations.
Our priority is not simply placing puppies in homes, but finding the right match for both the dog and its future family. For this reason, we carefully consider each inquiry and are always happy to answer questions about our dogs, and upcoming plans.
From time to time, including currently, we may have a small number of puppies seeking carefully selected homes.
